GTU One-Year Anniversary

It's been an incredible journey of growth, unity, and achievement as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of Great Lake Taekwondo United (GTU)!

Over the past year, GTU has remained steadfast in our mission to empower athletes within the Great Lakes region. We've witnessed remarkable progress, formed lasting friendships, and embraced the true spirit of Taekwondo.

From providing financial assistance($21,000+) to talented athletes to fostering a community that supports their dreams, GTU has made significant strides in elevating the standard of Taekwondo in our region. Together, we've overcome challenges, celebrated victories, and paved the way for a brighter future in the sport.

In the face of our achievements, it's crazy to hear some coaches dismiss our efforts as "pointless". They question the significance of supporting athletes and fostering a community-centered approach in Taekwondo. But we refuse to be discouraged by their negativity.

GTU firmly stands against such toxic attitudes within the sport. We refuse to let negativity overshadow our commitment to inclusivity, integrity, and mutual support. To those who undermine our mission and belittle our efforts, we say this: true strength lies in unity, not division. GTU will continue to champion the values of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play, regardless of detractors.
